Initial planning for the Third Link to Singapore is from Johor to Singapore via Pulau Ubin, but also may be a submerged floating tunnel. It is estimated the total length of the channel to be about 3 kilometres, which is expected to take 4 to 5 years to complete. Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir also confirmed at the press conference that there is indeed such a plan. However, he did not further elaborate.
