Kukup Fisherman’s Jetty
Kukup Fisherman’s Jetty is exclusively utilized in the fishing industry. The fishermen use this jetty as a platform to move items that will be used in the fish farms. For instance, items like fish hatchlings and fish food (A school of assorted tiny fish to be fed as food for the fish in the farms).
The jetty used to be built from wooden planks on stilts. It is now rebuilt in cement with much sturdier cement pillars.
When it is time to harvest the fish for export, the fishermen will bring their fish from the fish farms to Kukup Fisherman’s Jetty by boats. Together with fish from other farms, all the fish will be loaded onto large lorries and will be brought all over the state for sales, some will be even exported to other countries. Thus, the jetty is restricted to other vehicles.
